Sandy Desai, MD is a Physician and Director with Allergy & Asthma Specialists, PC, a group practice with eight locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. She is the Director of the Center for Integrative Medicine. She has practiced as a Board Certified Allergist/Clinical Immunologist since 2006.
Dr. Desai is an attending physician in the Pulmonary and Allergy Department at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Desai began her training with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Michigan and completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital, where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Desai completed a Fellowship program in adult and pediatric Allergy and Clincial Immunology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Desai is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She has an avid interest in integrative medicine. She strives to combine conventional Western medicine and complementary therapies with the goal of treating the "whole person".
Dr. Desai is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Associaton and the Philadelphia Allergy Society. She is Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology and Pediatrics.
Dr. Desai has been involved in numerous research studies and is a published author.
